A close shave…

Ensure your male customer has the ultimate shaving experience with these top tips from Mus Ismail, the owner of Ted’s Grooming Room

male-shave

  • Shave after a shower, as the heat and moisture help to open pores and soften the hairs, making hairs more flexible and letting the razor glide more easily across the skin, preventing razor burn and ingrown hairs
  • Follow with a good moisturiser to further soften the hairs and hydrate the skin
  • If using a manual razor, shave in the direction of hair growth to help prevent ingrown hairs. Shaving against the grain can twist hairs and invert them back into the skin
  • Don’t be tempted to dry shave with an electric razor, as doing so can damage skin and encourage shaving rash
  • Use a post-shaving balm to prevent irritation and re-hydrate the skin
